Pasteur, Louis

Pasteur was a French Chemist who made one of the greatest medical discoveries of all time
when he proved that micro-organism cause fermentation and disease. He
showed that microbes can be killed by chemical and physical means and that
the spread of disease can be controlled.
Pasteur originated pasteurization, sterlization,
and antisepsis which led to the development of vaccines that saved millions of
lives and almost doubled the average lifespan of man.
