STEPHEN DUSHAN 1308 - 1355 King of Serbia Stephen Dushan (or Stefan Dusan) was the greatest ruler of medieval Serbia, and he gave his people a new code of law. Stephen Dushan expanded the territory of Serbia at the expense of a Byzantine empire that suffered under Turkish assault. In several wars with the Byzantines he added Macedonia, Albania and parts of Greece to Serbia and in 1345 assumed the title 'Emperor of the Serbs and Greeks' |
