ANTIOCHUS III 241 - 187 BC King of Syria Antiochus III the Great was king of the Hellenistic Syrian Seleucid, empire from 223 to 187. Antiochus attempted to recreate the Seleucid empire from Egypt to India, where he established a system of vassal states.

Greece but he was forced to retreat from the western Mediterranean
