ASHUR-NARS-PAL c.912- 859 BC King of Assyria Ashur-nars-pal II was the cruellest of all the Assyrian kings. Ashur-nars-pal introduced cavalry in warfare and became the creator of the new Assyrian empire. Cruel methods of subjugation put the conquered peoples into a state of fear. Impalement, scourging and mass-executions were used.
