|
Bede became known as 'The Venerable Bede', the greatest scholar of Saxon England. Bede's 'Ecclesiastical History of the English nation' is the source of most information on early English history. Bede's 37 works include grammar, history, hymns, and the lives of saints. He also introduced the Christian chronology (B.C. - before Christ, and A.D. - anno Domini) to Europe. |
