LUKE c.22 - c.75 Greek Evangelist Saint Luke, the first non-Jewish apostle and the reputed author of the gospel named after him. Luke was probably born at Antioch in Syria. He was already a Christian when he met Paul. Biblical scholars believe that Luke accompanied Paul on two of his missionary journeys, and that he kept a diary of their travels. Among notable parables found only in Luke's Gospel are those of the good Samaritan and the prodigal son. The Gospels |
