ERASISTRATOS c.304 - c.250 BC Greek Scholar Erasistratos of Ceos was a Greek anatomist and physician in Alexandria. He is regarded as the founder of physiology (the study of living matter).
Erastitratos discovered that the brain,
instead of the heart, is the centre of nervous activity.
He also distinguished nerves, veins and arteries.
